Belen Books Publishing is all about the art, and despite the fact that we publish the written word, without fantastic covers and duplex imagery, books are a bit dull. That’s where artists like you come in.

Belen Books is hosting its very first book art competition where one talented artist will have their art showcased either as the cover or within the duplex cover of one our next two YA Fantasy books! That’s right! We have two upcoming YA Fantasy books in which the authors have agreed to have their covers and duplex art created by You, the readers / artists!

 

The award choices are as follows:

• Two, 1st Prizes – Cover art of the next YA Fantasy book based on selection and an autographed copy of the book by the Author made out to you or whomever you see fit, plus full credit on the copyright page of the book with special acknowledgement. The winners will be showcased on the Belen Books website.

• Two, 2nd Prizes – Inside front duplex art of the next YA Fantasy book based on selection and an autographed copy of the book by the Author made out to you or whomever you see fit, plus full credit on the copyright page of the book with special acknowledgement. The winners will be showcased on the Belen Books website.

• Two, 3rd Prizes – Inside back duplex art of the next YA Fantasy book based on selection and an autographed copy of the book by the Author made out to you or whomever you see fit, plus full credit on the copyright page of the book with special acknowledgement. The winners will be showcased on the Belen Books website.

• Runners-Up: If applicable, your artwork will be displayed on the Belen Books website for all to see your amazing work.

 

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of the contest, let’s explain: What’s a duplex cover [paperback only]?

​

Every book cover has its outer design, what you will see on the shelf in a bookstore or library, or on a retailer’s website. The duplex is the normally plain white insides of that outer cover of a paperback which we print amazing artwork which compliments the story (see examples below).
